HOWLITE

Howlite is a borate mineral classed as a calcium borosilicate hydroxide, which is sourced from evaporite deposits.

As a mineral group, Borate contains boron and oxygen. The volcanic activity forms when the flow of these borate inclusive submissions settle in closed basins, and the Howlite is formed within the cooling and evaporation process.

Borate minerals as a group are rare. However, Howlite is more common and forms in large deposits in dry, arid areas. Howlite is commonly mined beside Gypsum.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Agate crystals belong to the Monoclinic system.
