Origin – the place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.
Angelite is a Sulfates mineral of soft blue Anhydrite. Sulfides have a sulfur atom surrounded by four oxygen atoms that form a square. Aside from Gypsum and Baryte, which are the main Sulfide types, the rest are increasingly rare, including Anhydrite.
When Gypsum loses water, it turns into Anhydrite, usually found in salt deposits formed in blocks, of course, crystalline. Anhydrite is normally found as a colourless brown crystal. The pale blue version is rarer and is known as Angelite.
All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Angelite crystals belong to the Orthohombic system.
History – the past considered whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or something, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
The known history of Anhydrite is recent in times as the name was given by A.G. Werner in 1804 due to the absence of water of crystallization compared to its presence in Gypsum.
Angelite was first documented during the globally synchronised meditation event named the Harmonic Conversion in 1987.

Amethyst is a primary crystal formation created when the molten magma from volcanic explosions colls and forms into igneous rock.
This usually happens in cavities in volcanoes where the combination of chemistry and structural arrangements of mineral deposits, atoms and substances pass from gas or liquid into a solid-state or by means of going out of solution by precipitation or evaporation.
Amethyst is a silicate mineral of quartz and is the purple variety of the Quartz family. This purple hue results from trace particles of iron forming within the silica acid in contrast to quartz’s transparent colour created when the iron is not present.
All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are seven systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Amethyst crystals belong to the Trigonal system.

Amethyst has a long and detailed historical, traditional past that dates back to early civilisation and before. It was revered as one of the five cardinal gemstones to be of standing with the Emerald, Ruby, Diamond and Saphire for many Centuries until the discovery of large Amethyst mines in the 18th Century that moved its status from ‘precious’ to ‘semi-precious’.
There are mentions of the Amethyst in relation to the Bible and the Torah, and the stone was connected to the Catholic Church as it was widely associated with the blood of Christ.
The ancient myth of Bacchus from the 14th Century tells the story of how Bacchus, the God of Wine, in foul humour, decided to reap his frustrations on the first person he met. That person was the beautiful Amethyst, who was on her way to worship at the shrine of the Goddess Artemis. Bacchus set ferocious tigers on Amethyst, who cried out in fear for Artemis, who responded by turning her to white stone as protection. Taken by remorse, Bacchus took his best wines and poured them over her, thus turning the white stone into the purple hue that gives the Amethyst its distinctive colour.
Amethyst stone is highly desirable and used commonly worldwide. Natural Amethyst is only enhanced through the tumbling, cutting and polishing process, whilst lab-created Amethyst is widely used in the making of jewellery.

Fluorite can also be found in deposits that originate from hydrothermal forms as well as granite and igneous rock. It can be found as a minor matter in limestone and dolostone.

| Crystal twinning is a common occurence in fluorite and the stone has four perfectly formed cleavage planes that are an aid in the production of octahedral fragments.
Fluorite is found in a variety of colours and the strength of flourescence varies by the location of the source. It is a brittle stone with a vitreous luster and is rated as a 4 on the Mohs scale for hardness.
The stone can be slightly soluble in hot HCI acid and water. The fluorite mineral is used in beads and ornamentation. It is used in jewellery however is not regarded as a popular semi precious stone for use due to its relative softness.

| Hematite is the mineral form of one of the types of iron oxides. It is determined as iron (III) oxide which has the chemical formula Fe2O3.
Hematite, found in banded iron formations, can occur from volcanic activity though it is often found due to the precipitation of water where it can form in layers in standing water like springs or lakes.
When weathering processes occur in soil then clay sized hematite crystals can occur. This can bring our the redish streak of colour often found in older , weathered soils.

| The name Hematite derives from the Greek word blood which is a reference to the reddish streak that forms through weathering. The ancient Greek name for Hematite termed it as a blood red stone and this name was transposed to the latin Lapis Haematites which in turn was taken up by Middle French which used the term Hématite Pierre.
Hematite was used as a pigment where it was taken from the hematite covered ochre clay. It was one of the earliest forms of writing pigment, used as red chalk over 164,000 years ago in South Africa by the Pinnacle Point man. Chalk mines were found in poland dating back to 5000 BC and also in old graveyards from up to 80,000 years ago. The mineral has also been referenced with the Linear Pottery Culture in the BC age, located at the Upper Rhine.
It was widely used in jewellery in the Victorian era and also in the craft of gilding as well as in other creative crafts.

| Chalcedony is composed of very fine intercations of the quartz and moganite minerals which makes Chacedony a cryptocrystalline form of Silica. Quartz and Moganite both come from the Silica mineral however they have varients in structure, quartz being trigonal and moganite being monoclinic.
Chalcedony forms in masses and can also be found in the Geode formation.

| There are many accounts of how Chalcedony was given the name. Some say it derived from the town of Chalcedon in Asia Minor and others associate it with the Greek word Khalkedon which is found in the Book of Revelation.
It is a hapax legmemon which means that the word appears only once and is not found anywhere else so it is unclear whether the stone is actually the same stone we know today.
The actual name, Chalcedony, derives from the Latin chalcedonius and it is found in Pliny the Elder’s Naturalis Historia where it is referred to as a term for a translucid form of Jaspis. Jaspis is an opaque, impure type of silica.
The Mediterranean region used Chalcedony as early as the Bronze Age and it was widely used along the Central Asian trading routes. It was popular as hot wax would not stick to it so it was often used to make impressions for seals.
In the 19th Century the area of Idar Oberstein in Germany became the largest global chalcedony processing centre, receiving agates from as far as Latin America.
