Originthe place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts out, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.

Chalcopyrite is a mineral made up of copper iron sulfide which can oxidise to a variety of hydroxides, oxides and sulfates when exposed to air.

It is one of the most important copper ores and is present at a multitude or ore bearing environments as it is involved in a large mixture of ore forming processes. It is also found, when formed by deposition of copper through the hydrothermal circulation process, in sedimentary exhalative and volcanogenic massive sulfide ore deposits.

Chalcopyrite can also be found as disseminations in carbonate sedimentary rocks and coal seams mainly linked to pyrite nodules.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Chalcopyrite crystals belong to the Tetragonal system.

Historythe past considered as a whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or sometihing, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
The name, Chalcopyrite, is known to be derived from the Greek words Chalkos and Pyrites which mean copper and striking fire, respectively.

It is said the Chalcopyrite is the stone on which the Bronze Age was built and more recently (Century wise) is credited as being the foundation for the modern age of electricity.

Specificationthe act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.
This bright, attractive crystal has penetration twins and can resemble a tetrahedron. It is found in large form and can sometimes be botryoidal.

It is mainly formed in a brassy yellow/gold colour yet can sometimes appear with an iredescent purple tranish or hue.

Chalcopyrite can sometimes be polished into pendants and beads to be sold as inexpensive jewellery.

Varietiesa number or range of things of the same general class that are different or distinct in character or quality.
There are not many different varieties of Chalcopyrite, some include and are not limited to;

  • Blister Copper
  • Peacock Ore

Chalcopyrite can also be referred to as:

  • Copper Pyrites
  • Yellow Copper
  • Cupropyrite

Esoteric Attributesa quality or feature as characteristic of or possed by something.
Crystals by their very nature are able to receive and focus energy in different ways. Their molecular structure enables them to be used to amplify and convert energy and hence crystals have been used for centuries to aid healing and transmute energy both in the metaphysical and physical world.

Because each crystal family has different formational backgrounds, each also has different vibrational frequencies that can be harnesed and used for specific purposes. Each therefore have specific qualities that can be used to help a person heal on the many different levels of their being.

The following is a list of healing attributes associated with Chalcopyrite crystals.

Mental: Chalcopyrite crystals can aid the improvement of clear and systematic thought processes. It increases the powers of observation and gives a greater desire of the ability to understand life.

Emotional: The Chalcopyrite crystal is said to uncover the root causes of problems and illness. It opens up the desire to be more curious and open to experience.

Physical: Chalcopyrite is a cleanser that aids in the excretion of waste through the kidneys and intestines. It also helps with bronchitis, fevers, inflammation and brain disorders.
