Angelite

Angelite – Gemzworld Crystals Encyclopedia

Angelite – This is our research and findings on this magical mineral.

Origin – the place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.

Angelite is a Sulfates mineral of soft blue Anhydrite. Sulfides have a sulfur atom surrounded by four oxygen atoms that form a square. Aside from Gypsum and Baryte, which are the main Sulfide types, the rest are increasingly rare, including Anhydrite.

When Gypsum loses water, it turns into Anhydrite, usually found in salt deposits formed in blocks, of course, crystalline. Anhydrite is normally found as a colourless brown crystal. The pale blue version is rarer and is known as Angelite.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Angelite crystals belong to the Orthohombic system.

History – the past considered whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or something, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.

The known history of Anhydrite is recent in times as the name was given by A.G. Werner in 1804 due to the absence of water of crystallization compared to its presence in Gypsum.

Angelite was first documented during the globally synchronised meditation event named the Harmonic Conversion in 1987.

Specification – the act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.

Angelite is only enhanced through cutting, tumbling and polishing. It is of a soft blue | white in colour, and the true versions are only believed to be found in Peru, encapsulating a deeper blue colour.

Varieties – a number or range of things of the same general class that are different or distinct in character or quality.

Angelite is formed from Sulfates, of which there are around 200 types, including Gypsum and Baryte.

A rare variety is Anhydrite, of which the pale blue version is known as Angelite.

Esoteric Attributes – a quality or feature as characteristic of or possed by something.

Crystals, by their very nature, can receive and focus energy in different ways. Their molecular structure enables them to be used to amplify and convert energy. Hence, crystals have been used for centuries to aid healing and transmute energy both in the metaphysical and physical world.

Because each crystal family has different formational backgrounds, each also has different vibrational frequencies that can be harnessed and used for specific purposes. Each, therefore, has specific qualities that can help a person heal on many different levels of their being.

The following is a list of healing attributes associated with Angelite crystals.

Mental: Angelite helps to end brooding and give calmness to thought whilst dissipating obsessions. It is helpful in group communication and aids lucidity in dream interpretation.

Emotional: Angelite is an aid to overcoming insecurity, and it helps to withstand the psychic strain. It strengthens the ability to overcome confusion and pain when caused by cruelty.

Physical: Angelite aids in the stimulation of kidney function and water balance. It assists in the reduction of oedema.

Pyrite

Pyrite (Cubes) – International Crystals Encyclopedia https://www.gemzworld.com/

Originthe place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts out, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.
Pyrite is a mineral that is also known as ‘Fools Gold’. It is a common sulfide mineral incorporating iron that is formed along with other oxides and sulfides in quartz veins, metamorphic rock and sedimentary rock settlements. It can also be found as a replacement mineral in fossils and in coal beds.

Pyrite usually forms as a cubic shaped crystal and sometimes fuses closely to appear in a framboid shape. This shape is a distinguishing factor between Pyrite and Gold as Pyrite is smilar in colour however the shape differs in that gold has an irregular shape and Pyrite has a cubic formation. This is the reason for the term ‘Fools Gold’.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Pyrite cubic crystals belong to the Cubic system.

Historythe past considered as a whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or sometihing, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
This sparky mineral’s name derived from the Greek word ‘Pyr’ meaning fire as it was commonly used for creating sparks when struck with iron. It has been dated back to uses in prehistoric times by archeologists.

The Roman documenter and philosopher, Pliny the Elder, refers to Pyrite as a group of stones that emit sparks when struck. Specifically one which was coloured brass, which is deemed to be the Pyrite we refer to now.

The Atzecs and Mayans also used Pyrite to craft exquisitely produced mirrors using tiny pieces of pyrite melded closely together. Many of these did not last due to the iron oxidisation within. They were situated in royal and noble tombs and temples and were said to represent noble or royal heritage.

In the 20th Century, Pyrite was used in radio receivers and is also associated with low cost photovoltaic solar panels. It was also popular in the making of marcasite jewelery.

Specificationthe act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.
Pyrite has an indistinct cleavage with a very uneven and sometimes conchoidal fracture.

It has a brittle tenacity and a metallic or glistening luster. The mineral has a gravity of 4.95 – 5.10 and measures 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale rating of hardness.

Fluorite

Fluorite Blue – International Crystals Encyclopedia https://www.gemzworld.com/

Originthe place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts out, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.
Blue Fluorite is a type of flourite which is the mineral form of calcium fluoide. It belongs to the halide minerals. Fluorite occurs as a vein deposit where it usually forms as a surround to a host rock in which valuable minerals can occur. This is known as a gangue.

Fluorite can also be found in deposits that originate from hydrothermal forms as well as granite and igneous rock. It can be found as a minor matter in limestone and dolostone.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Fluorite crystals belong to the Isometric system.

Historythe past considered as a whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or sometihing, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
As fluorite was only recognised from the 18th Century as an individual stone there is no specific, documented history dating back to ancient times. It has been surmised that some mentions of topaz glass or other fragile stones may actually be a reference to fluorite.

The stone is widely sourced globally in over 9000 areas and the world reserves are etimated at over 230 million tonnes. The largest deposits are found in South Africa, China and Mexico.

Specificationthe act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.
Crystal twinning is a common occurence in fluorite and the stone has four perfectly formed cleavage planes that are an aid in the production of octahedral fragments.

Fluorite is found in a variety of colours and the strength of flourescence varies by the location of the source. It is a brittle stone with a vitreous luster and is rated as a 4 on the Mohs scale for hardness.

The stone can be slightly soluble in hot HCI acid and water. The fluorite mineral is used in beads and ornamentation. It is used in jewellery however is not regarded as a popular semi precious stone for use due to its relative softness.

Garnet

Garnet Hessonite – International Crystals Encyclopedia https://www.gemzworld.com/
Originthe place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts out, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.
Hessonite is a variety of Grossular which, in turn, is a calcium aluminium variety of the Garnet gemstone group. Grossular is found in contact metamorphosed limestones with wernerite, wollastonite, diopside and vesuvianite.

Hessonite is found in placer deposits mainly in India and Sri Lanka and its source in it’s native matrix sometimes occurs. Other significant deposits can be found in California and Brazil.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Hessonite crystals belong to the Isometric system.

Historythe past considered as a whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or sometihing, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
Hessonite is also referred to as cinnamon stone and has long been mistaken for other stones such as Zircon. These zircon termed stones, which were notable for their ability to be engraved, where shown many years ago to be Hessonite by Sir AH Church, due to the differentiation in the gravity of the stone.

The name derives from the Greek word Hesson, which means inferior. This was due to the density of the stone being lower than many of the other Garnet varieties.

The stone is mainly mined in India and Sri Lanka and is used extensively for jewellery due to its attractive brown to orange colouring.

Specificationthe act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.
Hessonite is an uncommon crystal  that is defined by its charcteristic brown/orange colour. The reference to its inferiority defined by its name determined by the low hardness and density of the stone. The hardness measures 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale compared to the 7.5 average of most other garnets.

The crystal has a conchoid to uneven fracure with a vitreous to greasy luster and a single or anomalous double refractive optical property.

Hessonite crystal is used widely in jewellery, similar to the Zircon gem.

Diamond

Diamond – International Crystals Encyclopedia https://www.gemzworld.com/

Originthe place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts out, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.
Diamonds are a metastable allotrope of carbon where the carbon atoms are formed in a structure termed as face-centered cubic entitled diamond lattice.

The majority of natural diamonds are formed in depths of 140-190 kilometres at high temperatures and pressure over, sometimes, billions of years. Magma, formed by deep volcanic eruptions, cools into igneous rocks called lamproites and kimberlites. Diamonds rarely contain impurities, those which do provide the unique colour that we see in a variety of diamond types today.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Diamond crystals belong to the Cubic system.

Historythe past considered as a whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or sometihing, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
Diamonds are purported to have been first found and mined in India where heavy deposits were discovered around the rivers Godavari, Penner and Krishna. It is estimated that they have been recognised there for around 3000 to 6000 years. Now roughly 49% of diamonds are mined from Southern and Central Africa with significant deposits found in Australia, India, Russia, Brazil and Canada.

The term diamond derives from the ancient greek word adámas meaning proper, untamed, unalterable. They are seen as a huge treasure and were used in ancient India as religious icons. They were also utilised extensively as a cutting tool for engraving dated back to the time of discovery.

Their most popular use today is as a revered gem stone. This popularity has surged since the 19th Century, mainly due to advertising and the advance in cutting and polishing techniques.

Specificationthe act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.
The diamond is the natural mineral that is the hardest known when applied to the Mohs Scale. It has a hardness of 10. They also have a high refractive index. The diamond is transparent to transluscent with a conchoidal fracture and has an adamantine luster.

The stone has a perfect cleavage detailed as 111 and spinel law common twinning.

There are sophisticated techniques employed for cutting, tumbing and polishing, especially when for use as a gem stone.
